D2K's Mark Walker Provides Humanitarian Support to the Philippines

Mark, Founder and Vice President of Engineering, and D2K support humanitarian efforts throughout the world as a high priority. Mark is presently serving on a medical team in the Philippine Albay district on the Island of Luzon during the week of May 28 – June 7, 2017.

His first exposure to the people of the Philippines was while he was temporarily stationed there in the US Navy aboard the USS Long Beach. He stayed in touch with many of these friends even after he left the Navy and returned to begin his college education toward becoming a Computer Software engineer.

In 2002, he joined a Christian medical missions’ organization, His Healing Hands, as a volunteer project manager for the pacific rim which included the Philippines.  He organized and led medical teams to the Philippines for several years and helped provide medical care to many of the remote areas in Leyte near Antipolo and Tacloban. By 2006 more than 10,000 people had received critical medical care from these teams including the few survivors of a giant mudslide near Saint Bernard in February of that year.
