NIST Lobby

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is a physical sciences laboratory, and a non-regulatory agency of the United States Department of Commerce. Its mission is to promote innovation and industrial competitiveness. NIST's activities are organized into laboratory programs that include nanoscale science and technology, engineering, information technology, neutron research, material measurement, and physical measurement. The American AI initiative has called NIST to lead the development of appropriate technical standards for reliable, robust, trustworthy, secure, portable, and inter-operable AI systems.

D2K is an active member of the NIST Standards Committee on Advanced Monitoring, Diagnostics, and Prognostics for Manufacturing Operations. This new workshop will further discuss and document an industry forum standards report similar to the one drafted after the May 2018 meeting. A copy of that report is available: https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/ams/NIST.AMS.100-23.pdf

NIST AI

The purpose of the Industry Forum is to discuss the current trends, successes, challenges, and needs related to advanced monitoring, diagnostic, and prognostic technologies (collectively known as Prognostics and Health Management (PHM)) for enhancing maintenance and control strategies within manufacturing operations.
